Back in the spring, I was asked to write guest blogs for writing.ie and writing4all.ie (no longer available) about the whys, the hows, the whats of setting up THE SOUTH CIRCULAR. After over a year of planning the project and the first issue (published in March 2012), I felt more than ready to describe my reasons for venturing onto an unknown publishing, entrepreneurial and creative prairie. I couldn’t be happier about the way things are going at the moment and the possibilities and collaborations that are beginning to present themselves. What started as a boozy conversation with a friend in a souless late-night joint, has now become just the beginning of an undeniable journey of commissioning, making and doing. Thanks for all of your support so far.
The South Circular is a quarterly e-journal of short stories designed to be portable and downloaded directly to your reading device. Some of the best ways to enjoy The South Circular is on a bus, waiting for the dentist or even on the loo!
Each issue of The South Circular costs just €3.00 and includes four stories by four emerging authors. That’s an average of 75 cent per story! We reckon that’s a bargain and a real treat.
For the cover of each issue of The South Circular we commission an image from a photographer or a designer or an illustrator or a visual creator of our choosing.
